Title: An examination of Jean Baptist Poquelin's (AKA Moliere's) use of comedies of manners in sophisticated satires.
Approach: Read the two books listed above, then carry out relevant research on the different props used in both plays ( costumes, make-up, etc); also value the type of language used throughout the play especially in the different monologues. Focus on the exaggerations and ridicules brought up in the plays; become familiar with how satires were used during the 19th century and how they were denounced by Moliere in his uses of "Comedies of manners".
- In the first paragraphs of my essay, i'm going to explain and develop the meanings of comedies of manners in theatre. i'm going to give realistic examples and make sure that any reader can relate to what i am talking about. The first steps of my essay will be devoted to the creation of a minimum awareness on the term "comedies of manners"
- Then i'm going to enter in depth into the development of how each book is related to the comedies of manners. Here I'll need to ensure that the reader is familiar to the aristocraties of back in the days. I'm going to do a short biography on moliere and talk about how, why, and the aims of his playwrights.
- Then i'll take each book separately and elaborate more on my research question on each of them.
- Of course i'll need to do some tremendous researches to make sure that my writings are accurate; but it would also be interesting to ask people about their opinions on the impacts of the comedies of manners on the 19th century's French aristocrasy.
